Sponsorship Opportunities

Are you interested in sponsoring one of our Wellesbourne Wanderers teams?

Every season we have new teams coming up through the ranks from U8 to U18’s, and often we need new kit, jackets and equipment for these teams.

Sponsorship Types

Some of the types of sponsorship we are always looking for:

  • Team Kit Sponsorship (Business logo on front of shirt)
  • Rain Jacket Sponsorship (Business logo on rear of jacket)
  • Link to your business on our website, logo & write up (On our new sponsorship page coming in for the 2019/20 season)
  • General Donations to the Club

If you are want to discuss potential sponsorship of the club, from a team level or for anything else, please get in touch on info@wellesbournewanderersfc.co.uk and we can share the kind of packages we have available.

Girls Football Growing at Wellesbourne

This season has seen our Girls training sessions growing in size to the point where we are able to start entering teams for the 2019/20 football season in the Warwickshire Girls leagues.

This is huge for the club and something we’d like to keep growing as well.

We currently train on a Thursday evening in Wellesbourne at the Sports & Community Centre between 6 and 7pm in a mixed session of younger and older girls.

We’d probably encourage the really little ones (at the moment) to join our mixed Minis sessions on a Saturday morning, but from girls in Year 3 and above Thursday night is probably a good time to come and have a go.

If you are interested in bringing your child along, we offer 2 free taster sessions to see if it’s for them, then after that is a fee of £20 per term (or £60 for the whole season).

We’d welcome girls from all around the local area to come and join, regardless of ability, we want the girls to come and have some fun, make new friends and enjoy football!

For further information contact us on info@wellesbournewanderersfc.co.uk and we hope to see some of you soon!

Please share this post on your various parent Facebook groups, and other social media too.

2018/19 Player Registration is Now Open

Player registrations for 2018/19 are now open and we are doing it slightly differently this year.

Rather than filling out a paper form for the club, you can now do this online and pay your fees all at the same time.

If your child is going to be playing for a league registered team in Under 8’s up to Under 17’s then you will be required to pay £100 for the season. If your child is joining Minis, training for the girls or just training with an age group (and not playing league fixtures) then a reduced fee of £60 applies.

Please fill in your registration form and make sure you make payment here. If you have any questions, please contact your age group coach BEFORE registration and making payment.

Please note that the league registration form will still be required for Under 8’s to under 17’s, with the two passport photographs.

All Training Cancelled

All football training at the 3G pitches in Wellesbourne and Stratford-upon-Avon is cancelled for this Thursday, Friday and for Saturday Minis due to the adverse weather conditions.

U16’s make it 7 out of 7

This Sunday we were the visitors to Khalsa at the Newbold Common fields in Leamington. Refreshingly the pitches were cut, white lines looking sharp and a surface unlike I have ever seen before at this venue. So all to play for and conditions that should suit our normal passing game.

Khalsa are a different proposition altogether this season and good to see Pal, Khalsa’s manager with a group of lads that will test every team in the league this season.

In a 1st half dominated by WWFC we take a 2 nil lead through goals from Rowan and Joel, only to be pegged back just before half time after the boys failed to carry out one of the basic rules in football – play to the refs whistle. After the ball had clearly crossed the touch line (according to most) the boys stopped playing and the only one who didn’t was the Khalsa striker who turned back into the pitch and slotted home coolly. With both linesman and referee unsighted the goal stood and a lesson to be learned for the future. Fortunately we went straight down the other end and were incredibly lucky to regain our 2 goal advantage when a deep cross into the box was headed into his own net by the luckless Khalsa defender. HT 3-1

A quick start to the 2nd half saw us take a 4-1 lead with Joel’s 2nd clinical finish of the game and from here on we should have seen the game out comfortably. However Khalsa were not on the same page and showed what a hugely improved team they are by fighting their way back into the game and probably controlling a large part of the final 1/3 of the game. They created several chances of their own and scored arguably the best goal of the game to bring the score back to 4-2.

The game eventually finished 4-2 which was overall a fair reflection of the game, however had we have been more clinical in the 1st half the game would have been out of site by half time. Credit must go to Khalsa who were determined to push us all the way and that they did amicably.

Lots of things to work on from a performance perspective, but another 3 points in the bag and that takes us to 7 games played and maximum points to date.

Brand new club website launches!

Well, it’s been a long time coming, but finally we have re-launched our website with a completely new look and feel and it even works on mobile!

The site has far more depth and information than ever before and we hope it’ll be a great resource for parents and visiting teams.

A big thank you to Milk Bar Studios, one of our club sponsors, who have been working hard over the summer getting this ready for us. They were also behind the new parent packs that Under 8’s – Under 16’s received earlier in the summer and that all Minis will receive in the next week or so.
